This year’s Perkasie FallFest is double the fun. In addition to the family activities provided by Perkasie Borough at Menlo Park, the Perkasie Olde Towne Association (POTA) is extending the event into the downtown area. We’re thrilled to be a part of this terrific day with our FallFest 5K, which starts with registration at 9am and the 5K run/walk starting at 10am. Awards will be given at 11am, leaving plenty of time to enjoy the rest of the FallFest activities. More information on the event is here in the official POTA press release:
Circle the date now – Sunday, October 5, from noon until 5pm for Perkasie FallFest 2014, an unprecedented, two-venue celebration full of fun family-oriented activities presented by Perkasie Borough and the Perkasie Olde Towne Association.
From make-your-own scarecrow and pumpkin decorating activities to a chili cook-off and pie eating contest to live music and dozens of vendors, Perkasie FallFest 2014 will offer something for everyone.
“It’s going to be an amazing event,” said Carolyn Hanel, the borough’s Director of Parks and Recreation. “By adding a second location, we’re going to be able to offer a wider variety of activities.”
POTA board member Kim Weichel, who is co-coordinating the event, said partnering with the borough helped ease the sting of canceling SpringFest this year.
“When we learned the borough was thinking about bringing part of its traditional Fall Festival downtown, it was a no-brainer,” she said. “We are able to take advantage of each other’s strength in putting together this event.”
Major sponsors of Perkasie FallFest 2014 are American Heritage Federal Credit Union, the law firm of Weber, Kracht & Chellew, First Savings Bank, and A&T Chevrolet.
The day will begin with a 5K Run through Lenape Park starting at 9am.
In the Town Center, there will be dozens of crafters and food vendors, live music, a chili cook-off, a pie baking and eating contest, raffles, and a children’s scavenger hunt.
At Menlo Park, there will be children’s activities, including a petting zoo, pony rides, inflatables, make-your-own-scarecrow and pumpkin decorating activities. The Menlo Carousel will also be open.
And, for your convenience, a FREE shuttle trolley will operate between Menlo Park and the Town Center all day.
