Underreported Rape – The Economic Factors

July 29, 2015 By WKCLawBlog

DailyWorth_ScreenGrab_7282015

Weber Kracht and Chellew’s attorney Abigail Tuttle was one of the legal experts featured in this DailyWorth.com article on the many economic reasons rape goes underreported. This is a worthwhile read to help us all learn how to best support survivors of sexual assault.

Happy Independence Day from Weber Kracht and Chellew

July 2, 2015 By WKCLawBlog

Thomas Jefferson wrote these words 239 years ago. They are as profound today as they were then.

The vote for Independence from Great Britain took place July 2, 1776. The Declaration of Independence was finalized and revealed to the public July 4, 1776. As you celebrate this 4th of July, take a moment to revisit the background of the writing of this pivotal document.

The Weber Kracht and Chellew Word of the Month: Clarity

June 15, 2015 By WKCLawBlog

GlassesPerspective

Throughout the month of June, our team is thinking about our Word of the Month – “Clarity.”

Defined as “the quality of being expressed, remembered, understood, etc., in a very exact way” clarity is a quality essential to every good relationship, whether business or personal. In our daily lives, seeking to be clear about our intent is essential to achieving our goals. It is something we seek every day at Weber Kracht and Chellew.

“Without focusing and getting to clarity you cannot lead. You cannot motivate. You cannot plan. You cannot communicate.” – Bobb Biehl

What does clarity mean to you?

The Weber Kracht and Chellew Word of the Month: Perspective

May 12, 2015 By WKCLawBlog

Our Word of the Month for May, perspective, was inspired by this series of photos we received in an email. “As a Pilot Sees the World,” shows cities and landmarks of the world from a breathtaking and thought-provoking vantage.

We learn from Flyboyzblog.com that the city shown above – Venice, Italy – “is situated on a group of 118 small islands separated by canals and linked by bridges.” That it’s a city of canals is common knowledge, but a shift in perspective allowed us to learn that the canals essentially created a city out of many islands.

Taking the opportunity to view something in a different way, from a different angle, can not only help us appreciate it more but it can also add knowledge, bringing refreshed meaning to the phrase, “gaining perspective.”

The Weber Kracht and Chellew Word of the Month: Connect

April 7, 2015 By WKCLawBlog

Connect_wordofthemonth_April2015

In our blog about last month’s word, “fascinate“, we touched on how this ability to draw attention can be the first step to meaningful communication. This month’s word, “connect,” takes this notion a step further.

The definitions of “connect” include: “to join, link, or fasten together; unite or bind,” “to establish communication between; put in communication,”  “to cause to be associated, as in a personal or business relationship,” and “to associate mentally or emotionally.”

Connecting is something we strive for as an internal team and also with our clients. We work hard to ensure our clients are heard within the legal system and to do so means we must first connect – truly listen to them and understand their legal needs.

How do you view “connect” in terms of your professional endeavors? We’d love to hear from you in the comments.
