The Weber Kracht and Chellew Word of the Month Is…Imagine

February 6, 2015 By WKCLawBlog

Imagine

For the month of February, we’re focusing on the word, “imagine.” For many of us, the word conjures John Lennon’s classic song. Or we equate the word with daydreaming. But can’t we also imagine productively? Is it not a necessary part of creative problem-solving? We think so. Ideas lead to solutions. As the poet Mark Van Doren wrote, “Bring ideas in and entertain them royally, for one of them may be the king.” So, imagine with us this month.

The Weber Kracht and Chellew Word of the Month Is…Gratitude

January 12, 2015 By WKCLawBlog

Gratitude_Cicero_crop

In December we started to share our Word of the Month. Choosing a word to focus on each month helps us as a team and as individuals, personally and professionally.

The word for January 2015 is “gratitude” and is defined as “the quality of being thankful; readiness to show appreciation for and to return kindness.” As you go about your business today, think about how gratitude can be a part of every interaction. Maybe it means taking a moment to close a client email with a line or two thanking them for their business or taking a moment to thank a coworker for a recent act of thoughtfulness. It could be as simple as giving a cashier eye contact next time you make a Wawa run. Try it and let us know in the comments how it impacts your day.

Before You Post That Facebook Copyright Declaration, Read This

January 7, 2015 By WKCLawBlog

It’s a new year but the same online hoaxes are making the rounds. While you were posting photos of your festivities on Facebook over the holidays, you might have seen this:

As of January 5th, 2015 at 6:20 a.m. Eastern standard time, I do not give Facebook or any entities associated with Facebook permission to use my pictures, information, or posts, both past and future. By this statement, I give notice to Facebook it is strictly forbidden to disclose, copy, distribute, or take any other action against me based on this profile and/or its contents. The content of this profile is private and confidential information. The violation of privacy can be punished by law (UCC 1-308- 1 1 308-103 and the Rome Statute). NOTE: Facebook is now a public entity. All members must post a note like this. If you prefer, you can copy and paste this version. If you do not publish a statement at least once it will be tactically allowing the use of your photos, as well as the information contained in the profile status updates. DO NOT SHARE. You MUST copy and paste.

As this ConsumerAffairs.com piece shares, this is not only invalid, it’s unnecessary. Facebook might get on your last nerve with its never-ending newsfeed changes, but in this instance they’re in the clear.

Weekly Wrap-up image

This week we debuted our “Word of the Month.” It’s something we’ve done for quite a while here in the office and now we share it with you. The word for December is “Exuberant.”

Exuberant

What comes to mind when you think of this word?

Since it’s the season of giving, we revisited Dean Arthur‘s post on the value of giving back.

Over on our Facebook page, we shared news of a terrific scholarship opportunity from Bucks County Community College as well as the chance to purchase discounted ski tickets from Perkasie Borough’s Parks and Recreation Department. We’re fortunate to do business in such a great community.

We want to thank you for reading our blog and your interest in Weber Kracht and Chellew.

Wishing you and your loved ones very Happy Holidays.
