Winter Clothing Drive for Pennridge FISH

November 3, 2015 By WKCLawBlog

Even though it’s been a beautifully mild fall, we know that chillier days are just around the corner. With that, we are kicking off a Winter Clothing Drive to benefit our local social service agency, Pennridge FISH.

From November 6-23, we are asking area businesses to consider placing a collection bin in their offices where members of our community can bring donations for our fellow friends and neighbors in need. You may also bring your donations to our office at 847 West Market Street, Perkasie, PA.

Items we are collecting (new or gently used):

  • Comforters
  • Blankets
  • Quilts
  • Coats (adult and child sizes)
  • Snowsuits
  • Sweaters
  • Long Sleeve Shirts
  • Boots
  • Closed Toe Shoes
  • Hats
  • Scarves
  • Gloves/Mittens

Please share the flyer below to help spread the word. Thank you – and here’s to a bright and warm holiday season for everyone!

The Weber Kracht and Chellew Word of the Month: “H.O.D.S.”

September 2, 2015 By WKCLawBlog

HODSimage

As with many routines, the Word of the Month took a break over the summer. Here we are in September, back in the swing of things. Returning to a regular schedule coupled with the shift of seasons also provides a format for realigning our focus. So it makes sense that September’s “Word” of the Month is an acronym: H.O.D.S. Developed by an author unknown to us and standing for Honest – Open – Direct – Specific, it’s the basis for our communication amongst each other here in the office as well as with our clients.

What does operating from a place of being Honest – Open – Direct – Specific look like for you? We’d love for you to share in the comments.

Serving Those Who Serve – A Testimonial

August 20, 2015 By WKCLawBlog

Thank_You_bulletinboard

At Weber Kracht and Chellew, we strive for excellence in providing the very best for our clients. Not only because it’s a key component of our mission but also because we know the outcomes of these cases affect people’s lives.  It is especially heartening – and humbling – when we receive thanks from a member of our military.

Thank you very much for your assistance in this matter, being stationed overseas for a period of time has an effect of amplifying stressors (such as a lawsuit from an unrelated incident over 2 years ago), especially on young Marines who haven’t seen their families in over a year. The initiative and professionalism displayed by your office directly resulted in a calm mindset in my head, knowing that the matter was being addressed in the background by professionals like yourselves, and there is nothing more I could have asked of you.

Thank you all very much!

Respectfully,
Christopher J. Fill

Thank you, Mr. Fill. It has been our pleasure to serve you.

The Weber Kracht and Chellew Word of the Month: Clarity

June 15, 2015 By WKCLawBlog

GlassesPerspective

Throughout the month of June, our team is thinking about our Word of the Month – “Clarity.”

Defined as “the quality of being expressed, remembered, understood, etc., in a very exact way” clarity is a quality essential to every good relationship, whether business or personal. In our daily lives, seeking to be clear about our intent is essential to achieving our goals. It is something we seek every day at Weber Kracht and Chellew.

“Without focusing and getting to clarity you cannot lead. You cannot motivate. You cannot plan. You cannot communicate.” – Bobb Biehl

What does clarity mean to you?

Graduation Season is Here: Celebrate Safely

June 8, 2015 By WKCLawBlog

GradsCapsinAir

To parents of students graduating from high school:

We are entering graduation season for high school students.  Many graduates will be attending parties to celebrate the event.  If you host such a party, be careful not to allow the event to become the cause of serious problems.  You cannot allow minors to drink alcohol at graduation parties.  Pennsylvania law provides for Social Host Liability for the service of alcohol to minors.  This means that if you allow minors to drink alcohol in your home and they thereafter go out and drive a car and cause an accident, you would be responsible to the victim of the accident.  I have seen cases where parents take car keys of high school graduates, thinking that if all of the graduates are staying overnight, any alcohol consumption will not be a problem.  This does not work.  Minors have ways to still go out and drive.  Zero tolerance is the only way to go.

I recently became involved in a program designed to help keep our children away from heroin and other dangerous drugs.  I have learned that many individuals become addicted to heroin after starting with prescription medications like Oxycodone.  If you host a graduation party, make sure that any prescription medication is secured and not available to any party attendant.

This should be a happy season for you and your graduates.  Please make sure it stays that way.

We wish all the best to the Class of 2015.
