Legal Secretary
The ideal candidate for this position will have a minimum of five (5) years of experience working in a law firm, preferably in litigation. As a legal secretary you will handle complex tasks that are critical to the success of our law office and provide administrative support to our attorneys through preparation of legal documents and correspondence. Additional duties include answering telephone calls, including initial client information intake, and performing conflict checks; welcoming and directing clients; scheduling appointments and depositions. Computer, verbal, and written communication skills are important in this position, as well as proficiency in Microsoft Office programs (Word and Outlook).
Skills & Qualifications:
- 5+ years of legal administrative litigation support experience within a legal department or law firm.
- Experience with Clio case management system is a plus.
- Ability to perform multiple tasks simultaneously while maintaining a positive attitude in a fast-paced environment.
- Effective time management and high level of attention to detail skills to balance the workload of two attorneys and efficiently prioritize requests.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Good analytical skills.
- Advanced level of knowledge of legal terminology.
- Ability to use high level of discretion and maintain all attorney-client confidentiality.
- Working knowledge of legal process, protocols, and procedures.
- Proficient typing skills to generate drafts and final documents in a minimum amount of time.
- Insurance defense or personal injury experience.
- Ability to work independently and in a team environment while maintaining highly confidential information.
- Effective listening, verbal, and written communication skills.
- Knowledge of local county e-filing systems and the ability to e-file in all counties.
- Must have the ability to multitask and pay close attention to detail.
