I’m a retiring judge, and the most inspiring people in my career have been the jurors.
A few years ago and during one of my jury trials, a Judge analogized serving on jury duty to military service. Whether this is an overstated comparison, the point cannot be overlooked: jurors provide an incalculable service to our democracy.
Trial by jury distinguishes our society as aspiring to rule of law.
Few cases get tried. But we need to preserve our right to trial by jury!
