Don’t Be Afraid of Your Attorney

December 26, 2017 By WKC Law

Rick Howard Don't Fear Your AttorneyIn keeping with Attorney Rick Howard‘s recent blog post about facing you “F.E.A.R.” in business, here is additional encouragement should you find yourself in a situation where legal counsel could save you a lot of worry. As he shares here, don’t be afraid of your attorney. We’re here to help.

If you look hard enough at any situation, you can find a solution. That is one of my guiding principles as a person and as I act on a client’s behalf as legal counsel.

I recently shared this during a talk at the Pennridge Business Network, advising them — and you — “Don’t be afraid of your attorney.” I and my colleagues here at Weber Kracht and Chellew are here to act as your advocate. We know that a well-counseled client is protected in ways he or she may not even realize.

Working to anticipate any issues related to your case or concern, we take pride in looking out for your rights. We believe that paying attention and caring makes all the difference.

It all starts with a conversation. If you have a concern or legal issue, let’s talk about it. Contact us today.

2017 Five Alarm 5K Raises $6,000 for Perkasie Volunteer Fire Company and Firefighter Scholarships

December 12, 2017 By WKC Law

The results are in from this year’s Five Alarm 5K and Two-Mile Fun Run! Thanks to the efforts of 72 runners, 28 business sponsors, 26 raffle prize donors, and many volunteers, $6,000.00 was raised as a result of the November 4 event.

We recently had the pleasure of joining our event co-presenters — Bucks County Community College’s Upper Bucks Campus and  Sisters U — to present the proceeds.  The Perkasie Volunteer Fire Company received $5,400.00, which they will use to buy accessories for the BullEx BullsEye portable fire extinguisher training unit they purchased with the 2016 Five Alarm 5K proceeds. The Bucks County Community College Foundation received $600.00 for firefighter scholarships.

“We’re grateful for the initiative and generosity of the presenting organizations,” said Brian Irvin, Perkasie Fire Company president. “This is the second year that they’ve come to us with the desire to do something for the fire company. These funds will definitely be put to good use.”

The Five Alarm 5K is a timed race, with timing services provided by Pretzel City Sports. Stephanie Savastano repeated her win in the Women’s category with a time of 20:39. Ethan Saville’s run time of 17:08 earned the overall top spot in the Men’s category.

Attorney Rick Howard Discusses the Equifax Breach and Changes to Pennsylvania Family Law on WFYL’s “It’s a New Day”

October 12, 2017 By WKC Law

Attorney Rick HowardAttorney Rick Howard recently appeared on WFYL 1180AM to discuss the recent Equifax breach and inform their listeners about recent changes to Family Law in Pennsylvania.

Equifax Data Breach

Nearly half of the U.S. population is affected by this data breach. So, what should you do to protect yourself?

  • Check your credit reports for suspicious activity.
  • Freeze your credit. This does not prevent you from using your credit. What it does is restricts others from opening new accounts in your name.
  • Consult this article from Consumer Reports, which presents more ways to protect your online identity.

Equifax is not currently charging a fee to put a credit freeze in place.

Pennsylvania Family Law: New Developments

Rick also covered new updates to Family Law in the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania:

  • Revised Child Support Guidelines
  • Updates on Grandparent Custody Rights
  • Changes in Divorce Law

Listen to Rick’s appearance here.

We are glad to discuss your concerns. Contact us today to see if we might be of service to you.
